This touches my heart deeply. I'm reminded of a great aunt, who kept every receipt. I think about my mother, who passed a couple of years ago, 11 days before her 95th birthday. My brother lives in her house, so everything's the same. I think about the brevity of life, the mundane that takes up so much space and time. I hope her nephew misses his aunt. I hope her space and the sameness of things provided comfort and safety in her retirement. In the end, much of one's life is discarded. The impact we had on others remains. I'm touched that the estate sale person kept the signature.

Thank you for the connection here. I don't know how you found me, I'm close to actually having an active Substack account. I know I'm going to enjoy your posts.
